KUM® carefully mills its metal pencil sharpeners from light magnesium alloy to achieve perfect pencil and blade positioning. The screw-mounted blade is held absolutely immovable, does not loosen, and the pencil does not wobble while turning.

The high-carbon steel cutting blade features Dynamic Torsion Action®. DTA handles the difficult dual task of cutting hard graphite while shaping soft wood -- remaining rigid when required and flexing when needed. The blade is protected against rust by careful polishing, eco-friendly ultasonic cleaning, and by a micro-thin oil coating. It is long-lasting and very sharp. Spare blades are available.

KUM® friction-reducing technology, employed in both the cutting blade and housing, assures an efficient and pleasant pencil-sharpening experience without chattering, gouging, sticking, breaking or excessive waste.
